Cage_workshop_image

A free workshop in the context of artist Navine G. Khan-Dossos’ project There Is No Alternative.

Led by Azad Ali, Community Relations Director at CAGE, the workshop will explore ways in which creative spaces can challenge the encroachment of counter extremism-led strategies such as Prevent.

There will be opportunities to share knowledge, experiences and understanding of the government's pre-crime policies and strategies; to spend time with the research archive that Navine G. Khan-Dossos has gathered for the project.

Azad Ali lives in East London, and has been a community activist for over 30 years. He was a civil servant in a central Government department and founder of the Civil Service Muslim Network. He is the former Chair of the Muslim Safety Forum and one of the founders of MEND (Muslim Engagement and Development) He is also a member of the East London Mosque.
He is currently Community Relations Director at CAGE, an independent grass roots advocacy organisation aiming to empower communities impacted by the War on Terror; and campaigning against discriminatory state policies. www.cage.ngo
