2010
For this project, Can Altay drew on research and dialogues with a wide range of people or 'partners' connected to The Showroom's neighbourhood, in order to create a single edition newspaper, The Church Street Partners’ Gazette, which examines the overlooked issues of local urban life.
The gallery was transformed into a workshop and meeting area, as well as a display site to make visible the ongoing production of the newspaper.
During the project Altay organised a special version of Rogue Game, devised by Sophie Warren & Jonathan Mosley and himself, in which three different sports are played simultaneously on the same pitch.
The Church Street Partners’ Gazette was published in December 2010.
A subsequent issue of the newspaper was produced during the 2012–2013 project The Grand Domestic Revolution GOES ON.
The Church Street Partners’ Gazette was generously supported by Outset, Tansa Mermerci Eksioglu, Fusun Eczacibasi and Berna Tuglular, and was part of Circular Facts, funded with support from the European Commission.
