As one of the Artistic Directors for 2016 Bergen Assembly, the collective freethought presents its current research interest: Infrastructure. freethought's large-scale investigation, culminating in a five-week programme in Bergen in September 2016, will wrest the term away from the language of planners and technocrats to put to creative and critical use within the cultural sphere.

In this event at The Showroom, Stefano Harney, Louis Moreno and Nora Sternfeld of freethought share their research, processes, thoughts and moments of challenge on the way to the Bergen Assembly.

freethought is a collective working in research and curating concepts of political urgency. Formed in 2011 by Irit Rogoff, Stefano Harney, Adrian Heathfield, Massimiliano Mollona, Louis Moreno and Nora Sternfeld, freethought moves across disciplines to experiment with combinations of sociality, criticism and practice, striving to place these new models in unexpected contexts. freethought is one of three Artistic Directors for the 2016 Bergen Assembly, together with PRAXES and artist Tarek Atoui.

Bergen Assembly is a perennial model for artistic production and research structured around public events taking place in Bergen, Norway every three years.
