The Showroom at Cromwell Place

The Showroom is pleased to be presenting Adam Shield: Resonance State, 2022 and Navine G. Dossos: TINA I-XXX, 2020 at Cromwell Place. Join us at The Showroom's first exhibition as a member of Cromwell Place during Frieze week.

Shield’s imagery encompasses references distilled from post-apocalyptic science fiction writing, dystopian dream projectors, seventeenth century alchemy and everyday encounters with political, societal and economic structures. In these works, the borders between the inner and outer worlds are blurred, drawing resonances between individual perspectives and wider structural conditions.

The current display includes a selection of the works commissioned by The Showroom for the exhibition Amp Envelope, Shield’s first solo show in London, which ran at The Showroom from 19 July to 17 September 2022.

Navine G. Dossos' series of gouaches are made using a set of unique stencils originally created by the artist for the production of her solo exhibition There Is No Alternative at The Showroom in 2019. In this limited edition Dossos overlays original stencils from her exhibition with new logos collected during her research throughout 2020; looking at the similarities of visual language between the Prevent policy and Covid-19 pandemic.
