Compost 1:1 - On the Role of Exhibitions

A meeting held online over Zoom and at The Showroom between Mick Wilson, Professor of Art at HDK Valand, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, together with Artist Kathrin Böhm; Yolande Zola Zoli van der Heide, Exhibitions Curator at Van Abbemusuem, the Netherlands; Gavin Wade, Artist-Curator, Eastside Projects, Birmingham; and Lily Hall, Curator, The Showroom, London.

A meeting held online over Zoom and at The Showroom during Compost. Kathrin Böhm: Turning the Heap between Mick Wilson, Professor of Art at HDK Valand, University of Gothenburg, Sweden, who instigated a conversation about the role of exhibitions in artist Kathrin Böhm's practice; together Kathrin Böhm with Yolande Zola Zoli van der Heide, Exhibitions Curator at Van Abbemusuem, the Netherlands; Gavin Wade, Artist-Curator, Eastside Projects, Birmingham; and Lily Hall, Curator, The Showroom, London.

A live programme of talks, workshops, and 1:1 drop-ins was held at The Showroom and online throughout Compost. The programme was updated weekly on the website compost.kathrinbohm.info. Designed by An Endlesss Supply, the site went live in tandem with the opening of Compost in June 2021.

Compost was supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Compost involved a new partnership with Art360 Foundation enabling a process of live archiving and an online event.

The subtitle 'Kathrin Böhm: Turning the Heap' was donated by artist Rosalie Schweiker.
